Truth behind Cosme No. 1 natural product!

Real Reviews #1 - Cosme No. 01

I've always had a fascination with Japanese 'natural products' at the drugstore. So, I decided to try out some of their best sellers from the shelf. These products sold in Japan are very affordable, ranging from 40-60 HKD (~5-8 USD) although the price could vary outside the country. Let's see if it's really natural.

[Product introduction]

Let's start with our first real review in the row!
 ORGANIC ROSE SKIN CONDITIONER

Purpose: Reduce pores and tighten the skin
Scent: Rose
Texture: Watery and light
Color: Clear
SafeModerate hazard

Nature: Non-toxic natural
Ranking❤ ❤

Known as the No.1 seller on COSME (the best cosmetics awarder in Japan), the skin conditioner costs around 50 HKD (~6 USD). Being under the brand 'Organic Rose' you'd think the product is organic, right?

The fancy name and popularity gave me high expectations. But after trying it out for about 2 weeks, I would say it works like a normal toner. I didn't really see any reduction of pores or experienced my skin tightening but moisturizing was decent. I ended up feeling a slight skin irritation around the more sensitive areas of my face, which I did not enjoy.

So is the Organic Rose Skin Conditioner an organic or natural product? Let's see what the ingredients have to say about it.

[Ingredients Analysis]

Conclusion:
This product is more or less a non-toxic natural product. There are few natural ingredients used like the Damask rose flower and pearl barley seed extractions while having a considerable amount of chemical ingredients.

Tips: from the list, you can notice a pattern that most Moderate hazards are used as a preservative!

[My opinion]
For a popular product, I went in with high expectations but sadly the skin conditioner was just not the right product for my skin type. I labeled this product as moderately hazardous mostly due to chemical preservatives and how the majority of the ingredients used were chemical, which was a cause for concern. The skin conditioner itself was quite mild and worked like the average toner. It also had a light rose scent that was not overpowering for me.

Even so, the irritation I felt around my eye area gave me a bad impression and I was concerned about my skin.

Although the product is affordable, I would not consider repurchasing this product again and I would not recommend it to people with sensitive skin. I personally think that when it comes to skincare that you use on the face, finding and investing in a good quality product that won't irritate or damage such a sensitive area is extremely important.

Stay tuned for more upcoming best sellers in the drugstore reviews!
